By Fu Ying and Wu Shicun
June 1, 2016

Editor’s note: This article reviews the many large or small events in the evolution of the South China Sea situation and demonstrates the possible connections among them. Hopefully it can enhance the understanding of the people who are concerned with the South China Sea issue and serve them as a reference. In addition, it can also provide a wake-up call to avoid deepening misunderstanding and spiraling escalation of tension.
