On the Horizon (Oczon)

Composer: Wu Lan Tuo Ga

Lyrics: Yan Er Ge Leng

English Translation:  Sheng-Wei Wang

On the horizon there is a pair of stars

They are the eyes of my dream
In the mountain there is a morning mist

That is your tender love of last night

I want to climb, climb to the top of the mountain

To look for the figure in the fog
I want to step, step onto the horse

To chase after the stars far away

On the horizon there is a big tree

That is the green sprouting in my mind

In the faraway place there is a high mountain

That is your broad-minded heart

I want to pick under the tree
To weave a beautiful dream
I want to graze under the hill
To pursue your footprints!

The song floating on the horizon

Is recounting the endless love
The light rising on the horizon

Is illuminating the journey of a lifetime

I wish to ride a horse with you

To gallop in the depths of the grassland
I wish to fly with you

To roam in the ravine of the blue sky!

Announcement from Mark Nickless and Laurie Bonner-Nickless: Author of CHASING DRAGONS: THE TRUE HISTORY OF THE PIASA

Dear Editor,

The authors are pleased to announce the release of their new book: CHASING DRAGONS: THE TRUE HISTORY OF THE PIASA. The Piasa was a towering painting of two scaly monsters of “horrible look” on a bluff overlooking the Mississippi River near St. Louis.

Discovered by explorer Father Marquette in 1673, its mysterious origin had been lost to history. Even the Indians did not know who created it.

Since 2004, Mark Nickless and Laurie Bonner-Nickless have conducted extensive research into the Piasa’s origin, and have made a history-altering discovery.

They have discovered that the Piasa was a “Rainbow Dragon” painted by a Chinese expedition in 1433. The authors present multiple lines of evidence for this conclusion, drawn from French, American and Chinese records.

Incredibly, their presentation of evidence culminates with excerpts from an obscure, previously unrecognized, record of that pre-Columbian Chinese expedition to the American Midwest.

Laurie is currently completing the translation of that incredible record, AN ACCOUNT OF THE WESTERN WORLD VOYAGES OF THE SAN BAO EUNUCH, which was written by Luo Mao Deng in 1585.

CHASING DRAGONS: THE TRUE HISTORY OF THE PIASA will fundamentally change the World’s understanding of the Age of Exploration.  It is proof that Columbus was not the first explorer to reach the Americas.

The authors have presented papers at international conferences in Nanjing, China (2005), Melaka, Malaysia (2010), and were guest lecturers at the Royal Geographical Society in London (2012). They are available for interview or lecture.
