Lee Kuan Yew’s unique legacy: Lessons in leadership and humility

Many buildings in countless university campuses in most parts of the world are named after wealthy donors, especially in Hong Kong and Singapore. However, the former Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Kuan Yew (LKY) wanted his house demolished. Generally referred to as the founding father of modern Singapore, LKY did not want his house to become a museum or a shrine commemorating his indisputable extraordinary achievements.

 

What can we learn from this unusual request from someone instrumental in laying the foundation for Singapore’s subsequent successes?
